I attended The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and was fortunate enough to study abroad in Santiago, Chile, work in special education in Cusco, Peru and spend time backpacking and volunteering in the NC mountains. In between, I worked to promote awareness of eating disorders at UNC and worked at a wonderful camp for children with cancer. Before starting medical school, I spent two years working in public health research, first with UNC Project-Malawi and then at Columbia University. While in medical school at Mount Sinai, I worked with asylum seekers in the NYC area through the Mount Sinai Human Rights Program and conducted research on the mental health of children seeking asylum in immigration detention. I also directed The Story Project and led HEART-IM. I'm now a Pediatrics/Global Health PGY-1 at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. In my free time, I like to hike, cross-stitch, and explore thrift shops. Few things make me happier than holding babies, petting dogs, or traveling to new places.
